What Doesn't Float on October 20
We'll be hosting the Toronto Theatrical premiere of Luca Balser's directorial debut at Revue Cinema!
On October 20, Bleeding Edge is excited to bring you What Doesn’t Float at Revue Cinema! Featuring a virtual Q & A with the director, Luca Balser!
“Seven stories. One city. A group of characters fill out this darkly comedic anthology of New Yorkers at their wits end. When the dailiness of urban life is suspended by unforeseen conflict, each character must make a decision. While the outcomes vary, a unified sense of the city emerges: New York becomes a mirror to the ego reflecting our true character, while the rest sinks to the bottom.”
Starring Pauline Chalamet, Larry Fessenden, and Keith Poulson, and many others, What Doesn’t Float is a love letter to New York, albeit one that doesn’t require rose-tinted glasses. Many of its characters live on the margins, literally, by the water, near the beaches, canals and docks of a city famous for its island geography.
The first feature of Gummy Films, the company founded by Balser, Chalamet and Rachel Walden, What Doesn’t Float brings together many figures from New York’s bustling film scene, including Sean Price Williams (Good Time) and Hunter Zimny (Funny Pages) as cinematographers.
We’re excited to present its premiere at Revue Cinema on October 20 at 9pm! What Doesn’t Float will also screen on October 22 and 23, courtesy of Circle Collective.
